The night my dad told my siblings and I he had cancer, I couldn’t sleep. I didn’t yet know that I would spend months in and out of a hospital for his chemo treatments. I didn’t know I’d sit next to his bed as he fought for his life, that I’d watch his dignity stripped, that I’d have to imagine a life without him. I just knew a long road lay ahead, and I was scared. Luckily for me and our family, experimental treatments helped him win the fight. Not everyone is as lucky.

I am training for the New York City Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. As part of my fundraising efforts, I am raffling off a photo shoot!
